Life Transitions

We all go through many different cycles and transitions in our lives. They are challenging because they always present the need for change and adjustment and often the need to redefine our sense of self.

Some life transitions are unexpected -- like accidents, death of a loved one, divorce, job loss, or serious illness. Others may be anticipated -- like getting married, moving, a new job, having a baby, empty nest, or retirement.

But whether chosen or unplanned, transitions can be difficult and confusing periods. They force us to leave behind the familiar and make big adjustments in our lives. The change can often be stressful and confusing.

Many people find therapy very helpful during these transitions. There are changes to adapt to, losses to acknowledge, adjustments to make, and new coping skills to develop.

I provide clients with the help and support they need to navigate major life transitions, which can be times of uncertainty. Together we can make this period an opportunity to learn about yourself and your strengths, and to explore what you really want out of life.
